About

What do we desire when we seek feedback?

Exploring whether the meaning and understanding of words are commonly held, workshop participants assess what they are requesting from audiences and peers, how to ask for it, and how to receive it. W.o.W. or Words of Witness are a structure and a methodology with which to ascertain informative and beneficial data to gauge and improve practice. Underpinning all of this is an upwording approach to language and intention. Rivca Rubin (Austria) and Charles Lauder (Jamaica) deliver this workshop, bringing a wealth of expertise mentoring individuals and facilitating organisational development. W.o.W. was developed with the Islington Mill Art Academy 2019, is informed by Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and Simone Forti’s non-judgmental feedback on work in progress.

We will collaborate with the artists taking part in the Live Performance Bazaar Residencies programme, but the workshop is open to participants from any field. It is important that participants commit to the whole program, including the showings of those artists at the afternoon Saturday Bazaar event.

Workshop schedule:

Wednesday 20. 3. | 10:00–15:00

Thursday 21. 3. | 10:00–14:00

Friday 22. 3. | 10:00–14:00

Saturday 23. 3. | 10:00–11:00 (Saturday Bazaar in the afternoon)

Sunday 24. 3. | 11:00–15:00

The workshop will take place in english! The price of the workshop ticket includes entry to the Saturday Bazaar.

Rivca Rubin designs learning programmes, working with organisations, collectives, and artists to define vision, desired impacts, refine practices and co-create mutually beneficial living and working climates.
